UWI/RSS Caribbean Security Futures Symposium


From October 7-9, 2026, the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and the Regional Security System will host its inaugural Caribbean Security Futures Symposium in Barbados.


The symposium, held under the theme "Towards Smart Technologies, Safe Spaces and Resilient Communities" will involve keynotes, open-table discussions, and workshop sessions over the course of three-days.

The Symposium will bring together regional and international experts, senior practitioners, and policymakers to collaborate on the development of realistic roadmaps and implementable solutions to enhance Caribbean security governance over the next decade.
